Twenty-two people were injured in a crane collision in East Austin on September 16, 2020. The accident occurred on “the 1600 block of Robert Browning Street in the Mueller area,” according to a report on the incident from CBS Austin. At the time of this report, the situation was still developing and a crane operator was still inside one of the two cranes. Photos show two cranes leaning toward each other on a construction site. CBS reported that the incident is under investigation by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).

The injuries were reported as non-life-threatening. Mainly, people were injured while attempting to distance themselves from the situation. Austin-Travis County EMS stated that 16 of the 22 injury victims were taken to the hospital for treatment.
